Newton is looking for a family that has had dog experience. If you do not have dogs now or have not owned a dog in  the last five years, and or if you have children, Newton may not be the right dog for your family. Newton would like to have a home with a yard where he can spend some time running around.    He is an amazingly affectionate dog.

Newton is a mixed breed we presume to be Shih-Tzu / Poodle mix.  He is around 23 pounds neutered and up to date with all vaccinations.  Newton ended up in a local shelter completely matted and in pain.  He was shaved down, neutered and had imbecile hernia repair.  He was too stressed out in the shelter so they reached out for a rescue group to help him.  We got there as soon as we can.

Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brothers. 
He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children.

Newton is a very affectionate companion.  He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you.  He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body.

WHEN AN APPLICATION TO ADOPT IS APPROVED WE BRING NEWTON TO THE HOME VISIT AND MEET AND GREET, AND IF ANOTHER ANIMAL A SNIFF TEST.  WE DO NOT PLACE DOGS ON THIS VISIT. WE RETURN IF THERE WILL BE AN ADOPTION WHEN EVERYONE IS PREPARED TO ADOPT.  WE ONLY TRAVEL UP TO A ONE HOUR DRIVE FROM ROCKVILLE MD TO PLACE ANIMALS.

Dogs listed here come from different sources Some dog's owner have passed and their family could not care for their companion, some lifestyle has changed and a new home would be in the best interest of their companion. Some are foster dogs placed in our care by different rescue groups.  Each dog may have a different process for adopting animals and charge different adoption fees.

You may be called by a volunteer, you may receive an email asking additional information or you may be requested to complete and Additional Information form. Please look our emails for further information.  We are all volunteers so we will get to you as soon as we can.

We place dogs within a one hour drive from Rockville MD. we concentrate our adoptions in these areas only. With our limited resources, applications outside of our immediate service area will not be accepted, no exceptions.  We take all animals to the home visit and meet and greet before they are adopted.
