ADOPTION PENDING Simba has been placed in his new home.  We keep his profile active for a short period to make sure it continues to be a good match.

This magnificent 7 year purebred cream Chow Chow became homeless when his 57 year old owner died suddenly. He is well-bred and came from a loving family.   Simba weighs 80 solid pounds, is neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, and microchipped.   Simba clearly mourned the loss of his home and his family.  He cried and shed real tears for a week.  With love and patience showered on him by his foster patents Simba reverted to the perfectly balanced dog he is.  Simba is the quintessence of the breed Chow Chow. He is keenly interest in his surroundings and he constantly monitors the doors and windows.  As with most chow he is dignified and aloof but he is never cold. He's not really fond of being hugged or fussed over but, he welcomes petting and attention after proper introductions.  He communicates clearly with his inner circle when he presents himself for affection.  As a Chow Simba requires a pack leader with whom he will bond closely, his loyalty will extend to other family members.  Simba loves to walk and explore new places.  More often than not Simba walks me, I don’t walk him. He knows his favorite places to walk and even look for new places.  Simba is so gorgeous he stops traffic out on walks and when he rides in the car.  Simba is truly a go everywhere dog and loves to go in the car anywhere.   Simba would do best in homes with older kids who know how to treat dogs. Simba needs to be brushed several times a month and may require professional grooming twice a year to keep his coat in good condition. Simba is not reactive to other dogs and in general shows little interest in them.  He lived with cats the first 5 years of his life. Simba likes his bully sticks and treats but interested in toys.  He does not seem to care about thunder.
