ADOPTION - PENDING - Lindy is one of those dogs who is both incredible cute and unusual at the same time. He is a 1 year old, 10 pound little guy.  His pictures make him look larger than he really is, but he really is only ten pounds!!  He is believed to be a wire haired dachshund mix.  We also believe, based on those ears, that he has some Corgi in his lineage. He is beyond adorable.   We do not have any history on Lindy, as he arrived at a partner shelter in Harrisonburg, Va as a stray.  He was never claimed, and we were contacted to see if we could help Lindy and a few other dogs in their care.   Lindy has been recently spayed, is up to date on her core vaccines, and is heart worm negative.   She has been started on a monthly heart worm preventative to make sure he never is exposed to the dangers of this disease.

Lindy has been tested with and is very good with other dogs.  He is all wiggly and tail wags when meeting and playing with other dogs.  He has not been tested with cats.  He has not been tested with children as well, but given his very small size and his Dachshund heritage, he will NOT be placed in a home with children under the age of 12. This includes homes who have children visit under the age of 12, such as any grandchildren or younger relatives.  In addition, we believe he will need to be placed with an active family or individual who can give him several walks a day, and/or several outings in a fenced yard for exercise.   A fenced yard is strongly preferred, but is not required.  Finally, given that Lindy has shown herself to be a fan of other canine, there needs to be another small, friendly, playful dog already living in the home to assure he has the companionship he needs.

Lindy is brand new to our rescue (as of January, 2016) and we are still learning his personality.  He can be protective of his food bowl, and should not be fed around other dogs, as he may feel threatened.

If you would like to add this amazing little fellow to your home, and meet the basic requirements listed above, please fill out an application to begin the approval process.
