Jarrod, aka 'Jerry Bear', is an adorable 3-4-year old neutered male hushpuppy of a dog. Jerry is most likely a ‘Heinz 57’ combination of sporting dogs with the temperament of a Golden Retriever, the coat of a Gordon Setter, and the short, stocky build of some of the heavier spaniels, like the Sussex or Clumber. Jerry has been bounced around too much for such a young dog and is looking for a family to love and a home to call his own. Jerry has excellent dog skills and is happy hanging around outside in a fenced-in backyard with his buddies. Jerry loves human companionship and enjoys being petted and cuddled, but is sensitive to invasive handling and roughhousing, so we are looking for a calm household with older children that will not surprise him with sudden movements. He also needs time to learn how to play with toys, and to refine his retrieving skills. Jerry loves to go on walks around the neighborhood, and around Potomac Village shopping centers. In the right environment where he feels comfortable and loved, Jerry will blossom into the goofy, happy-go-lucky guy that he is inside.
