These two dogs are barkers and would not be a match in an apartment or where barking in home and going in and out of home would be a nuisance.  We do not think these two will do well living with young children or other animals.

These 9 year old neutered Maltese weighing about 14 pounds each were surrendered to Montgomery County Animals Services and Adoption Center 3 times in their life. Then their most recent rapid adoption after they were surrendered resulted in a rapid return for a clear reason: their dental health had been neglected and their breath reflected this sad fact. Home At Last Sanctuary HALS rescued the paired pair and using their resources and many generous donations from HALS supporters $2,000 of dental work was performed. Result: two beautiful Maltese with healthy mouths, microchips and shots and ready for adoption.    Bo is shorter and rounder like a “midget tootsie roll”, Sam is longer and leaner. Bo is more outgoing and enjoys one-on-one time with chews or toys. Sam is a world-class sleeper. Sam has been hurt in his past and requires a light touch and come caution.  If he thinks he will be hurt he will growl, if he gets hurt he will snap.  We have been using a gentle hand and had great results in lessening his fears. Both are chow hounds and never say no to a treat. Bo is more cuddly and affectionate, Sam is blossoming daily in their foster home. They were pad trained by past owners and did not go outside.  They have had consistent reinforcement of outdoor pottying by their foster family. Result: after rare accidents Bo and Sam go outside after signaling their need. Bo and Sam are easily accommodate around the house and will lie on laps, couches, dog-beds, people beds, bath mats, Persian Carpets, in short anyplace a vacancy is indicated and they are invited. The boys like to walk and they like to ride in the car. They are go anywhere dogs that enjoy being with their people. The $300 fee is per dog $600 for both. .
